Dr. Alessio Mortelliti (Principal Investigator)
I am a field ecologist and enjoy being in the field catching mice as much as I enjoy analyzing data and writing papers. In my free time I am typically brutalized by my two kids.

I am fascinated by the lives of animals moving across a changing landscape, and I like to rudely intrude upon them with trail cameras and then analyze patterns of occurrence, with the eventual goal of informing best management practices.

I am from New Hampshire and I have always been intrigued by animal behavior. I am most interested in the link between anthropogenic change and animal behavior, and how behavior can be studied to aid in conservation efforts.

I’m from Minnesota but spent my summers in the Marine Biological Lab in Woods Hole, Massachusetts which led to my interest in fish, research, and education. I enjoy working with fish because they are easy to find and won’t fly away. I’m interested in fish movement, behavior, and predation and enjoy thinking about study design and statistical analysis. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor recreation and playing pick-up basketball.

I'm from Brazil, one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, and I'm very excited to do my PhD in the United States. I'm interested in studying how biological communities respond to environmental changes caused by humans, I enjoy working with birds and mammals.

I'm a student from Mumbai, India, one of the hottest and most humid places on Earth, and decided to study in Maine, a place that receives 5 months of snow. I'm really looking forward to my time here though! I've been in love with large carnivores for as long as I can remember, and strive to work towards their conservation.

I am from landlocked Indiana and am primarily interested in animal behavior, physiology and how they change in response to human activity and anthropogenic landscapes. I am also interested in social behavior and social learning.

I am a wildlife enthusiast from Indonesia, a country flourished with biodiversity. I plan to study the responses of wildlife communities towards land-based human activities. Observing wildlife is my hobby, so as a student in the United States, I want to see as many American animals as I could for my pastime. |

I am from Sherman, CT and have always loved exploring the outdoors, which has led to a lot of time spent wondering about the natural world. Specifically, my research interest is animal behavior, especially related conservation efforts in the face of anthropogenic climate change. In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, and swimming in rivers. |

I am from Rochester, NY and am an avid hiker and camper. My love of the outdoors has led to my passion for conservation and my interest in animal behavior. I am particularly interested in understanding how ecosystems can adapt to anthropogenic pressures and our changing climate. I hope to do work with direct conservation and management applications to save our environment.
